In 2025, Silfab Solar donated solar panels to the Illinois Solar Decathlon (ISD) at the University of Illinois. The student-led organization designs and builds net-zero homes that utilize sustainable practices to produce as much energy as they consume. This particular project, like ISD’s past initiatives, provided students with hands-on, practical experience in green technology, landscape design, and sustainable construction. Most importantly, it delivered a positive community impact through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County to provide a local, low-income family with an energy-efficient home. The Silfab Solar team is incredibly proud to support the success of the Beacon Home using our American-made, high-efficiency solar panels.
