Silfab SC Local News V3

Friday, Nov. 6, 2026. Silfab Solar provided the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES) with a 72-hour notice as contemplated in the voluntary Compliance Agreement. This notification covers the resumption of commissioning activities and the transition to the next phase of solar cell production at our Fort Mill facility.

At a time when strengthening America’s energy independence is more important than ever, resuming full operations supports domestic manufacturing, creates additional high-tech jobs in South Carolina, strengthens our nation’s energy security, and helps reduce reliance on foreign supply chains.

These actions follow a thorough review of the facility, procedures, and safety protocols by an independent third-party engineering firm and are consistent with SCDES, reinforcing our commitment to operating safely, responsibly, and in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The safety of our more than 700 employees in Fort Mill, their families, and the surrounding community remains Silfab Solar’s highest priority.

Reflecting our commitment to responsible and safe operations, we will continue to welcome SCDES and York County officials to our site as commissioning activities resume. We also will continue to update our website (www.SilfabSolarSC.com ) with updates and other important information. We value the expertise and partnership of state and local officials, whose collaboration helps reinforce industry best practices, supports operational excellence, and contributes to our shared goal of maintaining a safe, responsible, and successful manufacturing operation in Fort Mill and the employment for valued members of our community and their families.
